Had a pot of coffee brewed at about 10pm last night as I tried to stay awake to ring in the new year.
Turns out I didn’t need it. The neighbors decided to set off M-80s in front of our house at around 11pm. Jonny woke up and crawled into bed with us just as we were settling in for some Netflix and chill (I know we are party animals)…
I knew Jonah would soon follow as is his habit every night. If everyone was in our bed, nobody would be getting sleep.
So I preemptively tried to nip it in the bud by moving down to the couch (secretly hoping that my wife would get to have both kids in bed with her and I would get a nice sleep on the couch downstairs)…
Didn’t turn out that way. Jojo found me downstairs around midnight and slept on top of me. When he sleeps… he doesn’t really stay still.
I tried to move down to the floor in a sleeping bag in the playroom.
He found me there too. I think I slept 3 hours or so last night.
So that coffee I brewed last night? Yeah. I drank it today.
