This is a poem written by my good friend at Walk Down Autism Lane.

There is a ball of emotion we as parents have deep down inside of us. It is where we hold our hopes for our kids, our love and affection, and pride in their accomplishments… it is also where we hold our fears, worries, and our anxiety about their future…

They are different for each parent.

But for us… they are also similar.

It is rare that others truly UNDERSTAND. In our Ausome world, (especially when having children who are nonverbal) having others who just “get it,” is a treasure beyond all else.
