“Dad. Jonah has a knife.”
The nonchalance in Jonny’s voice led me to believe Jonah had found the butter knife I had left on the counter, or maybe a plastic knife from the party utensils that were left out.
I was wrong. VERY wrong. 😳
Jonah was standing there with an 8” chef’s knife butchering a tomato on the kitchen counter.
He had an enormous grin on his face and burst into laughter when he saw me as if to say:
“LOOK DADDY!! Look at this ‘event!’ Look what I am able to do now! See how I am cutting this tomato! I am now a master with knives! I will use ALL the knives! I think I shall now put this newly acquired skill to good use! … QUITE RAPIDLY!”
😒🙄
I am choosing to believe that the knife was accidentally left out and choose to NOT believe that Jonah is actively searching for them to use. We have never (up to now) had a problem with Jonah and blades…
…unless you count this time with the tomato.
…and last month with the scissors when he cut his own hair 🤦♂️
…ah crap.
I really hope I don’t need to hide all my knives now.
Sheesh.

“Never a ‘dull’ moment.”
(Sorry. It couldn’t be helped. #dadjoke 😆)
