Do you remember your initial response when your child was given an “official” autism diagnosis?

I remember mine quite vividly. I came home from Jonah’s final diagnostic evaluation appointment and recorded this. I think I just needed to get everything out that was jumbled up in my head.

The only way I could describe what I was feeling was a very “heavy” emotion.

I wish I could go back to 2016 and tell myself that, “Hey buddy, it’s gonna be all right. Look how far he has come in 5 years.”

No…

What I REALLY wish is that me from 5 years down the road would come back to NOW and tell me, “Hey buddy, it’s gonna be all right. Look how far he has come in 5 years.”
