When this happens, there is maybe a .0001% chance it is NOT who you think it is.
Yes, it was Jonah. (Because of course it was).
He had darted outside to wait for his bus, because that is the routine. I will typically wait with him to make sure he is safe, but if I am not there, the routine must go on.
And to his credit, he was being very safe. Waiting in the driveway, not going in the street, or down the sidewalk.
99% of the time I get this notice, I know where Jonah is, where he is going, what his intentions are, and what he is doing.
It’s just that “1%” of the time when he breaks from his routine that worries me.
This is why I have Ring Cameras all over my property.
Because it has happened to me on 4 different occasions (Jonah has completely eloped). It is a terrifying feeling. But he has gotten much better as he has gotten older.
So while the chances that Jonah will elope are now probably very low, in my head, they will never actually be zero ever again.
