Thank you!! Yesterday was an absolute blast. Sunday and Monday we saw our good friends from college who are also married (yay for other married couples!)
We seriously have not been able to hang out with other married folks (other than relatives) almost the entire time we have been here.
Sunday evening we vegged out, ate Papa Murphy’s (complements of our in-laws), and had a jolly good time with college friends. Gone are the days when we would be up playing games and watching movies until 3:00am rolled around. We were all in bed at ohhhh..9:30pm. Something about marriage prompts you to yearn for bed almost immediately following dinner.
Monday we ventured down to the waterfront. It was about 48(f) degrees and windy but we walked almost half-way to the other side of the boardwalk before Jonny had ‘had enough’ of the cold and we had to turn back. He is so enthralled with his surroundings now I try to get him out of the house every chance I get. I honestly think he gets bored inside the house all day (even if I’m walking him from room to room dancing around to “Who is Johnny” by El Debarge).
After that we headed up to my favorite Hawaiian restaurant. It is a locally owned favorite I would highly recommend to anyone and try to take everyone who visits. Lunch was delicious (the part I was able to eat). I was trying to tire Jonny out with the trip to the waterfront and use the car-ride on the way to the restaurant to put him to sleep for his afternoon nap, but unfortunately he decided to fuss in the car, and fuss also in the restaurant. It is always a ‘hit or miss’ experience taking a baby out to eat and this time was a ‘miss’ for me. It was still fun though.
Then last night after Mama got off work, (also after our friends left) we went to my old friend’s house for game night (we didn’t really play any games though on account that it was already pretty late and our 9pm bedtime was around the corner). I have not hung out with him since like 3rd or 4th grade. It was so great to meet up with old friends and their new families.Â
Seeing people from my childhood makes me feel so old because we have all grown up since then, but spending time with them reminds me of my childhood and brings back such vivid memories.Â
Such special times.
