Need a 2nd opinion…or 3rd?

Jonny has been a little more fussy than usual for no particular reason and we noticed a slight discoloration on his upper gums. He is a little young to be teething (we think?) but I can’t think of anything else that would cause this.
I took a picture of it for you guys. You can click on it to get a real good view of it.
Is this what teeth pushing through look like or is it a residual effect from the oxygen tube they had down his throat during his recasting…or something else?
What do you think? I have opened up the blog to all viewers so anybody can comment on this blog or any (your feedback is appreciated)
Thanks!
Thanks you guys! We have determined he is not teething…he just decided our shirts needed an accent texture…like, drool.
Probably discolored from where he sucks his thumb/hand/fingers?
I have to say that that isn’t what our kids look like when they get teeth. Before anything pops through their gums looks swollen and bulging. I’m with Carrie though, kids can get teeth at four months, it’s just not very common. When did you first notice it?
Hey guys, I am a friend of Sara Jones and check in on your blog fairly frequently. Your little boy is so adorable and I think you guys are parenting very well considering all the struggles you have had to go through. I am a dental hygienist with 2 kids so I know a little bit about teething. It is not abnormal to start teething at 4months, although the average is more like 6. And, they do tend to get fussy with teething as it usually is accompanied with a low-grade temp. Does he have a temp? Can you feel anything hard there with your finger? However, to me, from just one picture, it doesn’t really look like a tooth coming in. I don’t know though. It would be nice to see it in person to get a better look. Sorry that I don’t have anything better to say. Good luck! And by the way, I am a big fan of “A mother’s intuition” (or fathers) so if you are truly concerned, I would have it looked at.
