If you had one thing you could tell to a parent of a newly diagnosed Ausome child, what would that be?

For me, I think it would be this.

“Your child is no different now than they were before being diagnosed.

Don’t let a label assigned to your child by a complete stranger after spending a couple of hours with them make you see your child ANY differently.

Don’t let other doctors tell you how to see your child.

Don’t let other parents tell you how to see your child.

Don’t let other autistics tell you how to see your child.

Your journey is your journey.

You know your child better than anyone.

Don’t limit their potential because of what somebody else thinks.”

What advice would you give?
