Today we ate at a “sit-down” restaurant.
We ALL ate.
It’s Friday and I was feeling adventurous.
So I chose our favorite gourmet hole-in-the-wall.
When we got there, Jonah insisted on his own seat at first, but eventually let me sit him in a high chair. Otherwise, he would have been running circles around the restaurant within a minute.
He was surprisingly well-behaved! I was able to redirect him long enough to order the food and eat it when it arrived. They had color crayons, and he also watched longingly at videos I took in Maui.
I wolfed down my fettuccini alfredo.
You just never know how much time you have until you have to take your kid to the car so you learn to eat quickly.
Mama had pear ravioli.
Jojo and Jonny ate some gourmet pizza.
Jojo only tried a few bites, but he tried it. He also picked up a big boy fork and used it (sort-of) properly to feed himself instead of using his hands.
That’s not even a skill we have even been working on. That is pure imitation.
Jojo stayed in his seat for a good 45 minutes before requesting to be “all done.” Again, and again, and Again.
But to his credit, he waited patiently while asking and didn’t raise his voice once.
So proud of him!
