Bedtime thoughts:…

Bedtime thoughts:

Tonight, unwinding from a busy day, Jonah likes to recite some of the things he knows or has learned in life…

Much (if not all) of it is scripting—repeating words or phrases he has picked up or been taught—but it all comes out, for no particular reason… while he lays in bed, waiting to fall asleep.

I remember the tears of joy when Jonah said his first word… (“done.”)

…His first phrase (“Russell! OUT!”)

…The first time he said “Dada.”

I will never forget the joy I experienced with him at those small and yet huge accomplishments.

But Tonight, as I listen, I am again humbled and amazed at how far we have come…the things he has learned and can now “say.”

…Reciting a song he learned.

-counting to 10.
-counting to 20.
-counting backwards from 20.
-counting to 30.
-counting by even numbers.
-counting by odd numbers.
-counting by 30s. (Yes 30s).
-reciting the alphabet.
(reciting the alphabet backwards…!!)

It’s as if every night there is something new.

Which means each day… he is learning something new.

And I couldn’t be more proud.
