I swear I do this to myself.
Knowing I would have to work today, I got up at 4AM to get ready to go to the gym by 5…. AM … in the morning…
It’s like the only time I have to do it.
Jonah napped for 3 hours yesterday so I assumed he would not have a good night last night.
I didn’t think I would have the energy to get up and work out. But Jonah surprised me again. By the time 4am rolled around, he was still in his bed. It was my choice. To get up and work out, or not…
I was strongly leaning toward “NO” and going back to sleep.
Like… what am I, crazy?
Do you know what motivated me to get up?
The coffee timer that self-brewed an entire pot of coffee at 3:45.
If I didn’t get up, the coffee would get cold and be wasted.
And we CANNOT have that.
So I got up and got ready to go.
Usually I will put our cat in the garage before bedtime because he is an absolute pain at night. He will annoy us to no end ALL NIGHT.
But since I was leaving, and I didn’t want him escaping outside, I put him back inside before I left.
…at 5am… (that was my mistake).
Jonah woke up shortly after I left and got into bed with Mama.
He would have probably gone back to sleep. Except the cat.
The darn cat.
This cat started walking on our printer (the computer is in our bedroom), pushing buttons, batting things down off the desk, and trying to get things pinned to my bulletin board and generally just causing a ruckus.
Jonah woke up. And Mama had to get up with him.
When I got home around 6:45 or so, Jonah was downstairs screaming. Mama was sitting next to him looking a bit worse for wear.
Jonah was trying to eat breakfast.
But his show was ‘buffering.’ The infernal WiFi…was still not working right.
Jonah was DONE. 7am and done.
I had to lay down with him on the floor calming him down of the playroom while Mama groggily got ready for work.
So now it is 2:30pm and I can barely keep my eyes open. I’m tired. Jonah’s probably gonna nap again today, and I’m sure Mama’s pretty tired as well.
Jonny is the only one who got a full nights’ sleep.
…ugh. That’s what I get for getting up to work out…
…and being ‘motivated.’
…and having a cat.
Thanks to H2Au: the stuff of our life for finding this…
