“Yee-a-rye? Yee-a-kay? Yee-a-rye? Yee-a-kay?”

Jonny woke up sick with a fever and a sore throat. He was lethargically huddled under a blanket on the couch this afternoon, which is very unlike him on most days.

He is usually full of energy.

Jonah decided he wanted to snuggle his brother, something he VERY rarely does.

So he climbed underneath the blanket with him. He was repeating that phrase…

“Yee-a-rye? Yee-a-kay? Yee-a-rye? Yee-a-kay?”

When I listened with “parent ears” I deciphered what Jonah was saying…

“Are you all right? Are you okay?”

Jonah had discerned that Jonny wasn’t feeling well.

He wanted to help his brother feel better.
