This week is “National Nurses Week.” For those that don’t know, Mama has worked as a Registered Nurse for the last 15 years.

She has worked tirelessly in the Intensive Care Unit, every day, putting her patient’s needs above her own. With both boys, she worked clear up until the day she delivered.

When she was in labor with Jonny, while in the middle of a contraction, she was more concerned about a patient coding in the ICU than getting through the contraction because it was during a shift change.

Many of the things we would ONLY do to take care of our kids, she does for complete strangers.

She goes through that every day… and comes home to be Mama.

I always tell people that I hope they never meet her in a “professional capacity.” But if they do, they will be in good hands.

So to all you in the nursing field and to all the loved ones that support them…
