Do you have someone in your life that helps turn a difficult day into a beautiful memory?
We spent the day with family.
Auntie cooked a good dinner and Jonny and Jonah picked strawberries with Papa.
On days like today, I am reminded of how truly blessed we are to have family (who “get it”) live so close.
Jonny has been having difficulties at school. He works hard, but sill continues to fall behind.
He needs nearly constant 1:1 supervision to stay motivated to work.
So to keep him from regressing over the summer, my sister has been having “auntie camp” with him every day (she is an elementary para-educator).
They have been practicing all his academic skills and are going to tackle some “life skills” next… (folding clothes, rolling a sleeping bag, packing a suitcase).
Jonny has summer camp next month and needs to be well-prepared.
My sister has sacrificed her summer to help my son prepare for his school year.
On top of that, she will cook healthy meals for us and sends more food home with us for Mama (I am an awful cook).
Little gestures like that go a long way.
Not having to worry about what to make for dinner, or how to keep the kids active at home (especially when I am working from home) is a huge weight off my shoulders.
I am so thankful I have that here.
I do my best to “pay it forward” and help others wherever I am able.
You never know how far a little kindness can go.
…Because even the smallest gesture can turn a difficult day into a beautiful memory.
What about you? Do you have anyone like that in your life?
