This is definitely true.

Before Jonah was diagnosed, my “knowledge” of autism came from The movie Rain Man, an episode of “Scrubs,” and an inspirational youtube video of an autistic high school basketball equipment manager.

I had no idea what autism actually was. It just scared me to death.

Sometimes, I still feel like I don’t actually “know” what autism is in a broad sense.

But I know Jonah.

And with every accomplishment, my perception of “autism” is continually changing.

It is definitely a different path than the one I thought we would walk, but sure do love the company.
