“To the random ignorant person commenting on my child…”

We’re only a year and a half past Jonah’s diagnosis…
If I choose to acknowledge the ignorance I hear sometimes, my reaction to that ignorance is still ‘angry and defensive.’
I don’t always act on my reaction, however.
Most times, I ignore the ignorance I hear. It’s white noise to me.
But to any random ignorant person commenting on my child:
I hear your remarks. Every word. They are usually said when my child is acting out. I’d address you personally, but I am otherwise preoccupied (usually attending to my child).
Just so you know…I still get angry and defensive. Especially if my child hears your ignorant words.
But I simply don’t have time for you… or your opinion.
Just keep walking.
Yep. Feet moving. Mouth shut.
Thanks.
