This is why our house was so distraught yesterday when Annie (our new kitten) went missing.

Jonah has a “connection” with animals. He is always gentle with them. He loves our pets. He was the one who noticed when Annie was missing yesterday.

This kitty is Russell. We got him about 2 years ago just before Jonah was diagnosed.

He and Jonah quickly bonded. Russell will play fetch and followed Jonah around everywhere. He loves human interaction and actually prompted Jonah to say his first full sentence. “Russell, OUT!”

We call him a “cat-dog.”

Annie doesn’t quite have the same demeanor as Russell, but both our kids love her the same.

We are thankful they are both safe and sound here at home again.
