UPDATE: 10/30 ANNIE HAS BEEN FOUND AND REUNITED WITH US!
Jonny and Mama were handing out flyers yesterday to the neighbors.
Annie was out all night and started meowing at the neighbor at the end of the street like a block away as he was getting ready for work. They had gotten one of the flyers and knew exactly who she belonged to.
We are a happy family once again. š
(Darn cat.)
Annie is missing…
Sometime this morning when the kids were getting in the car, Annie our new kitten escaped into the garage.
Then, as we were pulling into the driveway, she must have ran through the open garage door as we were backing out to leave to school.
I didnāt notice. All Day. I just assumed the cats were napping all day. Itās what they usually do.
Then, I went to pick Jonah up from school, we came home and was only greeted by Russell, our other kitty.
I still didnāt notice.
Then, Jonah started knocking on the door to the garage… something he only does if brother is in the garage and he wants in… only brother was still at school.
I asked him what he wanted…
āAnnie.ā
And I thought, oh, he must hear her out there…
Sometimes she sneaks into the garage, but she has never ran outside…
Except she wasnāt in the garage.
I checked the entire house.
We have been through this before, if you recall, with Annie, when she had been with us only like 3 days.
But she has grown in the last few months and she is much too big to hide in the house without being found in the āusual spots.ā
She was just gone.
I called Mama and she came home from work. I picked Jonny up from school and he immediately started panicking.
We made flyers and Jonny insisted on walking around the neighborhood handing them out.
I took Jonah on a walk to the park… I jingled Annieās bell the whole way…hoping she might hear it and come running.
Nothing. Jonny got together with all the neighborhood kids and they scoured the streets.
It is now bedtime.
Still no Annie.
Jonah can tell something is off, but has held up okay. I donāt think he understands the gravity of the situation.
Jonny is distraught with worry. He is snuggling with mama in our bed as he cannot fall asleep on his own right now.
He is praying desperately for her.
Iāve left the garage door open for now, so that maybe she will find her way back home.
I hope she does.
Because right now, we are a broken family without her.
