Most days I can unde… (video)

Most days I can understand Jonah completely.

I can pick up on virtually all his nonverbal cues and can predict his reaction to just about anything.

He would giggle in his sleep and I could guess with 99% certainty what he was dreaming about.

But of course, some times he still surprises me. (And I don’t know why I still get surprised by this)

Some things about him just baffle me. Like the beauty he sees in the “ordinary.”

The things he finds so fascinating that seem so mundane to me.

Like this tree branch. He grabbed it from the end of the block and took it all the way home with him.

And I can tell he is riveted with fascination.

He loves to just stare at it and study it. I wish I knew why. What does he see? What does he feel? What makes this tree branch such a thing of wonder?

Sometimes I wish I cold see he beauty of the world through his eyes.

If only for a day.
