I tried doing this math problem with Jonah.
I thought it would be an easy one for him, but it turns out it’s more difficult than I first imagined.
To me, it is easy to explain, when you have “nothing” and add “nothing,” you STILL have “nothing.”
But in this instance, “zero” is a concept more than a number.
So, to Jonah…
If you have one zero and add another zero, you now have TWO zeros.
How can you add “nothing” to “nothing” and still have “NOTHING?”
“No. You now have TWO ‘nothings.’ “
That makes an awful lot of sense to me and now my brain hurts trying to think about it.
