So Jonah has had the same teacher since kindergarten.
This year, he has a new teacher.
She is completely new to the school and when I was first told her name, I didn’t know anything about her.
That is no-longer true.
I have made it my business to be ALL UP in her business.
If I am sending my “mostly nonverbal” 8-year-old to spend 6 hours a day with her, five days a week, I need to know what sort of a person she is.
I need to know how she interacts with the world.
I need to know what others have said and are saying about her as a teacher and as a person.
But most of all, because my child will not be able tell me, I need to know and trust that my child will be safe with her.
For the whole year.
